Post your questions about the OLL assignment here:

Speak to you soon, best wishes, Charlie and Mike

1) Can you recommended us some useful websites to design online teaching activities? Like the activity "Drag the words on the right to where they belong". I want to use this but I have no idea where I can make my own quiz.

2)I'm a little confused about the notes for assignment:  "It is advisable to create at least 3 lessons/activities/section." Are the overview and evalution also counted as lessons? So that means I can only create one Unit1, the overview and the evaluation with contents inside? Or the sentence means except the overview and the evaluation. I must create at least three lessons Like Unit1, Unit2, Unit3 with all of them content inside. Thanks for your help.

3) I have 2 questions. Firstly, if I want to quote one activity of my course more than once, do I need to put the URL of the activity in my writing assignment every time I quote it, or just the first time? Secondly, do  I need to put the links of videos that I used in the course in the reference part?

For question 2 above, the overview and evaluation are not separate lessons, but there must be an overview for the whole course and an indication how you will evaluate the course and a tool for evaluating the course. We looked at some of these during the OLL course, eg. 'Mentimeter'.

Just a reminder that these three fully developed lessons have to be shown to fit into a longer course, say perhaps of about 8 lessons (like in the examples on Learn). Your online course should show the indicative content for all lessons, for example:

Course title – Life in the UK

Lesson 1 – Introduction to life in the UK
Lesson 2 – Customs in the UK
Lesson 3 – Food and drink in the UK
Lesson 4 – Shopping in the UK
Lesson 5 – Sport and leisure in the UK
Lesson 6 – Education in the UK
Lesson 7 – Working in the UK
Lesson 8 – Difference between town and countryside in the UK
(these are only examples, you are free to choose your own).

Your online course main page should have links to each lesson, but only three of the lessons will have tasks and materials, one at the beginning, one in the middle and one at the end to show progression.

I hope this helps!

Best wishes and take care!

Yours

Mike

For question 2 above, you would follow the normal rules of referencing, for example usually the author and year of publication for in-text citations, but the URL is given in the full reference in your bibliography at the end of your assignment. The links for the videos need to be included.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes and take care!
