Express Scribe Transcription Software

Foot Pedal Controlled Digital Transcription Audio Player

Express Scribe is professional audio player software for PC or Mac designed to assist the transcription of audio recordings.

A typist can install it on their computer and control audio playback using a transcription foot pedal or keyboard (with 'hot' keys). This transcribing software also offers valuable features for typists including variable speed playback, multi-channel control, playing video, file management, and more.

VoiceThread

https://voicethread.com/

To insert a VoiceThread into a wiki, first create the VoiceThread. Use the commands in VoiceThread to copy the embed code.

Then come back to the wiki and go to EDIT mode. Use the "insert" command (on the toolbar) and then go to "hmtl/javascript". A new window should open, allowing you to paste the embed code that you copied. On the next small window choose "embed plugin". The instructions remind you that you won't see the inserted object in EDIT mode, but then save your wiki page and when you are back in "VIEW" mode, the inserted object should show OK.

I added a poll from http://twtpoll.com/

Once you create the poll, you need to find the code to embed it (scroll down the page on twtpoll to find the code to "insert" the poll). To embed it in a PBwiki you need to use the "insert plugin" link. Go go "insert" and the html/java link. then paste the code you copied in the box. Remember to click on "allow java script". Click on preview, then save. You won't see the poll until you save the wiki page (you get a small greenish box instead) but after you save this page you will see the poll.
